This Mission is Open to Both High School and College Students
A rugged landlocked country, Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa. It has a population of 135 million people with more than 80 ethnic groups with as many languages, and over 200 dialects. Ethiopia is full of beautiful landscapes and wonderful wildlife. It’s home to the lowest place on the continent, the Danakil Depression, which is believed to be the hottest place on earth. Addis Ababa is the sprawling capitol city located in the highlands. It has a rich vibrant coffee culture and home to the bustling Merkato, one of Africa’s largest open-air markets.
As part of this team, you’ll travel to the flourishing city of Addis Ababa, where you’ll have the incredible opportunity to build lasting friendships with Ethiopian students. You will engage with students by speaking in classrooms, at school assemblies, and during campus outreach events. You’ll have the unique opportunity to share your life experiences, engage in meaningful conversations, and fully immerse yourself in the rich Ethiopian culture.
You’ll not only share what life is like as a student in the U.S., but also listen, learn, and grow through the stories and experiences of those you meet. You’ll work alongside local staff, encouraging new believers and helping ignite spiritual movements on high school campuses. This is more than a trip; it’s a powerful opportunity to make an eternal impact with Ethiopian students. As you step out in faith, your own spiritual journey will be stretched and strengthened.
There’s even more! You’ll also play a vital role in bringing clean water and renewed hope to families in need. By assisting with the installation of water filters in homes, you’ll provide a fundamental necessity while sharing the transformative message of God’s love and forgiveness. Every interaction is a chance to connect, pray with families, and embody Christ’s compassion.
