STUDENT RESOURCES<\/h2>\r\n

If you\u2019re here, you probably like Cru and you want to learn how to get more involved.\u00a0 Cru can only continue and grow if we have strong student leaders running it.\u00a0 Today I want to share with you what leadership in Cru looks like so you can see if it\u2019s for you.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

What is Cru?<\/h3>\r\n

Cru is a Christian outreach program on public high school campuses.\u00a0 Our goal is to do 3 things: Win, Build, and Send.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

WIN<\/strong> \u2013 Our main focus is evangelism \u2013 helping people who do not know Jesus and helping them begin a relationship with Him.\u00a0 Instead of asking non-Christians to come to\u00a0 a church building to hear about God, we want to bring it to them where they are.\u00a0 (Outreaches, sharing the gospel one on one, etc)<\/p>\r\n

BUILD<\/strong> \u2013 Building Christians up in their faith, helping them grow into mature Christians.\u00a0 (Small Groups, Speakers, etc)\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

SEND<\/strong> \u2013 Training students to share their faith and lead spiritually so they can live a lifetime of helping others in their walk with Christ.<\/p>\r\n

What is Student Leadership?<\/h3>\r\n

When we look for leaders in Cru we are looking for Servant Leaders.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

A student leader is someone who leads by serving<\/strong>.\u00a0 They are leaders, not so that they can put it on a resume\u2019, to feel better about themselves, or to feel important.\u00a0 A Servant Leader, instead of putting themselves OVER others, is actually putting themselves UNDER others.\u00a0 While some leaders may show up to be served by others, a Servant Leader shows up in order to serve others.<\/p>\r\n

We usually look for students to lead things first (help with chairs, help with tech, help serve), then lead people (in small groups, talk up front) and then lead movements (lead Ministry teams, disciple other leaders)<\/p>\r\n

When Leading in Cru, there are a number of ways you can lead.\u00a0 We need people to just come help set up and put back the chairs.\u00a0 We need people to invite others.\u00a0 We need people to start small group Bible Studies with your friends.\u00a0 There are all kinds of ways to lead unofficially.\u00a0 You don’t need a “title” in order to lead!<\/em><\/p>\r\n

We have an acronyms that help us remember what we look for in a leader.<\/p>\r\n

FAT \u2013 tells you what kinds of people we\u2019re looking for<\/p>\r\n
