Santa Cruz Summer Mission emphasizes both leadership and ministry skill development in a multicultural and multiethnic community. Our hope is that you will experience holistic growth in your walk with Jesus while living in a transformative community. Our leadership program includes: spiritual formation, service opportunities in the local community, an emphasis on character growth, discipleship, and in-depth bible study training. Skills training includes subjects like: ethnic identity, theological development, conflict resolution, and developing your voice. You can also expect a summer of fun as we experience life together along the coast in Santa Cruz.
We will also have the unique opportunity to learn from Christian professors from San Jose State University and will participate in an evangelism innovation workshop. As a team, we will create new ways to represent Christ in the dense spiritual fog of the postmodern world. You’ll leave with several new tools to use back on your campus for engaging in spiritual conversations.You will also be able to experience a variety of cultural and spiritual landscapes – from the more laid-back feel of the beach and boardwalk in Santa Cruz to the fast-paced city of San Jose. Finally, you will be able to reference this summer on your resumes as a leadership development program with lasting skills for your lifetime.
SCSM is a full summer mission experience in three short weeks. Price includes everything except transportation to the summer mission. Come join us!
