Prayer walking uses the sights, sounds, and smells to engage our minds and bodies in our prayers. It recognizes the importance of place and our physicality as we talk to God.<\/p><p>Consistent prayer walking also helps our hearts begin to feel God&#8217;s love and care for a place or people. Ask God to bring people to you.<\/p><p><strong>Start with your own heart<\/strong>. Is there something in your life that&#8217;s coming between you and God? Ask God to help you push into that.<\/p><p><strong>Research. <\/strong>What events are happening soon? What are the normal rhythms of this place? What is the history \u2013 secular and religious? What are the location demographics?<\/p><p><strong>Build a plan. <\/strong>Will this prayer walk focus on an event, a certain neighbored or demographic? Will you do this once, or build this into your weekly routine? Maybe you&#8217;ll want to choose some Bible passages to read through together, or focus on praying about what you see.<\/p><p><strong>Show up.<\/strong> Commit to being there, show up, and trust that God will work.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section data-particle_enable=\"false\" data-particle-mobile-disabled=\"false\" class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-4b6119f elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"4b6119f\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-656cad1\" data-id=\"656cad1\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f402f5b elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"f402f5b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"98\" src=\"https:\/\/campus.cru.org\/my-campus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/267\/2020\/08\/gray-bar.png\" class=\"attachment-full size-full wp-image-1736\" alt=\"\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-fefe56d\" data-id=\"fefe56d\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-75a9b6f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"75a9b6f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"color: #ffcf07;\">What to pray<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section data-particle_enable=\"false\" data-particle-mobile-disabled=\"false\" class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-db69d58 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"db69d58\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-23f391d\" data-id=\"23f391d\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0b8537e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0b8537e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h6>Worship.<\/h6><p>We prayer walk with God in an attitude of worship. We are lifting up Jesus and giving Him honor with our actions and words. Worship also builds faith inside us as we focus on God&#8217;s character.<\/p><p><em>Three elements of worship:<\/em><\/p><ul><li><em>Thanking God<\/em>.<br \/>Psalm 100:1 says we must enter God&#8217;s presence with gratitude.<\/li><li><em>Honoring God<\/em>.<br \/>When we acknowledge Jesus&#8217;s place as creator and king, He draws people to Himself. (John 12:32).<\/li><li><em>Acknowledging our own need and brokenness<\/em>.<br \/>Like Isaiah, when we truly see God for who He is, our response is one of unworthiness and need. Like Daniel, we also acknowledge how we all have a share in the pain, rebellion, and brokenness that surround us. (Daniel 9:2-19).<\/li><\/ul><h6>Jesus&#8217;s victory over evil.<\/h6><p>Jesus told his followers that we live in a world with spiritual sources of evil, and these are our true enemies. And we fight with prayer, confident that Jesus has already won the war. (I John 3:8).<\/p><p>Pray that:<\/p><ul><li>Jesus will be victorious in this place and time.<\/li><li>That people will see through the lies of evil, to find the truth and light of Jesus. (2 Corinthians 4:4).<\/li><\/ul><h6>Blessing.<\/h6><p>We pray blessings of peace upon families, dorms, offices and local businesses. We welcome Jesus to our campus or city, asking that He bring His love, forgiveness, healing and cleansing to this place. We pray that God would be honored, adored, lifted up, revealed and praised by name among the people of the community.<\/p><p>Look for signs, posters, graffiti, carvings, statues, and buildings to give you ideas.<\/p><p>Pastor Jack Hayford prayed this prayer of blessing for Los Angeles: <em>\u201cNow Lord, we are the seed of Abraham and we speak blessing upon the people of this community. Let your salvation, healing, deliverance and reconciliation settle over this community.\u201d<\/em><\/p><h6>God&#8217;s word.<\/h6><p>Listen for God&#8217;s voice through the Holy Spirit and respond. God may also give you thoughts and ideas of what to pray about (I Corinthians 12:8). Using a Bible app on your phone, take turns reading verses about God&#8217;s heart for people, for justice, and His kingdom.<\/p><h4>\u00a0<\/h4><h4>Don&#8217;t stop praying.<\/h4><p><em>&#8220;For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.&#8221; <\/em>(Ephesians 6:12)<\/p><p>Richard Trench, archbishop of Dublin, was reportedly challenged one day by a skeptic: \u201cYour answers to prayer are just coincidence.\u201d<\/p><p>Trench responded, \u201cThat may be. I only know this: the more I pray, the more \u2018coincidence\u2019 I have, and the less I pray, the less \u2018coincidence\u2019 I experience.\u201d<\/p><p>What places or communities has God put on your heart?
